Purpose and Scope

The purpose of the Lynwood English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC) is to serve as a forum for parents of English Learners to advise Lynwood leadership and provide recommendations on decisions concerning English Learner programs, services, policies and their families.  Each California public school, grades kindergarten through 12, with 21 or more English learners must form an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). The responsibilities of the ELAC are for advising the principal and staff on programs and services for English learners and the School Site Council on the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), and assisting the school in the development of the school’s needs assessment, the school’s annual language census, and ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance.

ELAC is a public forum for all community members to add input and address the school.
  • If you are interested in attending a meeting, please feel free to arrive and attend at the scheduled meeting times
  • If you wish to present or address the committee, please contact the committee facilitator 1 week prior to the meeting.
